Joanne Turner
Joanne Turner was a judge for the Minnesota Tax Court. She was appointed to the court in November 2012 by Gov. Mark Dayton[1] Turner was elected chief judge on January 5, 2015.[2] Turner left the court in 2019.[3]
Education
Turner earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from The Ohio State University and her Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Minnesota. She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1992.[4]
Career
Before joining the court, Turner served as an assistant commissioner for the Minnesota Supreme Court.[1] Prior to this, Turner was a partner with the Minneapolis law firm of Mackall, Crounse & Moore, PLC. Turner has also worked as an assistant professor of accounting and taxation at Ohio State University and at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.[1]
