Jocelyn Pepper Pritchett
Jocelyn Pepper "Joce" Pritchett was a Democratic candidate for Mississippi Auditor in the 2015 elections.[1] She qualified for the ballot and formally announced her candidacy outside the state Capitol on February 27, 2015, the final day of the filing period.[2] Pritchett was defeated by incumbent Stacey Pickering in the general election.[3]
Pritchett is a civil engineer and owner of Pritchett Engineering & Planning.[4]
She is a prominent advocate for LBGT rights in Mississippi. In 2014, Pritchett and her wife, Carla Webb, were plaintiffs in the federal lawsuit challenging the state's ban on same-sex marriage.[2][5]
Biography
A Mississippi native, Pritchett was born in Bellefontaine and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in civil engineering. She went on to earn an M.S. in both civil engineering and city planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999. After completing her education, Pritchett returned to Mississippi to begin her career as a civil engineer and planner.[4]
In addition to owning her own firm, Pritchett Engineering & Planning LLC, which she founded in 2009, Pritchett's professional experience includes working for ABMB Engineers, Inc., the Mississippi Department of Transportation and Parsons Brinckerhoffown.[6]

Eleven state executive offices in Mississippi were up for election in 2015. The general election was held on November 3, 2015, following a primary election on August 4, 2015. Runoffs were scheduled for August 25 in case no candidate received a majority (50 percent plus one) of the popular vote in a given primary race.
Pritchett ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, and faced incumbent Stacey Pickering (R) and challenger Lajena Walley (I) in the general election.[7]
