Jody Shackelford fights to put more money in your pocket and less in the pockets of big government. Block needless spending and tackle the 23 trillion in national debt. Growing up in the foothills of Arkansas, Jody grew up digging ditches for his father's excavation business in the winter and roofing houses in the summers. A Reagan conservative, he has a focus on economic prosperity and small business. From magazines, newspapers, and successful products launched in Walmart and Bass Pro, Jody has the ability to innovate and solve problems as a doer, not just a dreamer. He fights for the 2nd Amendment and loves to shoot with his family.
  • Don't let Russia spread communism and fear, we need a strong military and fierce leadership to prevent war before it starts.
  • America deserves a surplus and talk is cheap - we need a 28th Amendment holding there must be a balanced budget for the nation.
  • We need policies that encourage American energy production and unleash our abundant natural resources instead of enriching foreign governments.
Passionate about economic prosperity, tackling the debt, and national defense while fighting the liberal agenda in Washington.
Ronald Reagan because he understood the needs of the blue collar worker, he stood for freedom and he took down the USSR.
Spreading chat gravel on the weekends from 10-18-years-old.
Tackling the debt when so many want to spend, spend, spend. Not good.
We should have term limits.

Campaign website

Shackelford's campaign website stated the following:

FIGHT NANCY PELOSI AND THE LIBERALS IN CONGRESS.

THE 2ND AMENDMENT IS SACRED, NONE SHALL TREAD ON OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS My grandpa taught me to shoot as a little boy in the Ozarks. Twenty-twos at the farm, plinking old tin cans off the old wood fence. He'd laugh and we'd reload until the fireflies came out.

The right to bear arms is enshrined in the 2nd amendment of the U.S. Constitution as one of the most precious founding principles of our fine nation. This is a right that Americas have fought and died to protect. As your Arkansas congressman, I will fight the gun grabbers with everything I have. As a proud veteran, member of the NRA, and a life-long shooter - I pledge to you my unshakable support for the 2nd Amendment. My grandad would not have it any other way.

ANTI-ILLEGAL-IMMIGRATION

America is special. You can go to France, but you will never be a Frenchman. You can go to Germany, but you will never become a German. In America, anyone can apply for citizenship and earn their place as an American. We must stop line-jumpers who spit in the face of those who do it the right way.

We must not let liberals control the frame with regard to the republican position on immigration. We are not anti-immigration. We are anti-ILLEGAL-immigration. Irish, English, Italian, and the whole world - our ancestors were immigrants and worked hard to become a part of America.

WE MUST STOP OPEN BORDER POLICIES. Increase incentives so we can recruit and retain th best agents, upgrade technology, and increase penalties for those who cross illegally. We need to improve the process for good people who are working hard to earn their citizenship legally.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT FOR A BALANCED BUDGET

A balanced budget is not a myth. America deserves a surplus not a deficit. Through smart spending, tax policy changes, and a change from a "should" into a "must," so over time we can turn the deficit into a surplus. Our great grand children do not have to be saddled with an obscene national debt. Jody supports an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that makes it a requirement that the federal budget is balanced like any common sense financial approach.

NO MASK MANDATES

We need to encourage quality public health while balancing personal American freedom. In the midst of a pandemic, and with an eye on the future - Jody will not support legislation that robs Americans of the right to make personal health decisions. In all common sense ways, masks should be encouraged, but never mandated, either federally or at the State level.

LOWER TAXES, MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET Keep your own money. You do not have to be an economist to understand that lower taxes lets people keep more of their own pay check. That is more money in your pockets to spend in the economy - the free-market, instead of giving that money to big government.

We must stop wasteful spending: The Federal Government gave $1,000,000 (ONE MILLION DOLLARS) to Norwegian American Foundation in Seattle, Washington. Those are real dollars that we borrowed from China to spend on Norway. Insanity.

IDEA: How about we pay $500,000 down on the deficit, and loan $500,000 to launch a steel ball-bearing factory in Arkansas - instead of giving it to the Norwegian American Foundation in Seattle, Washington. This is what I will fight for.

As a former app developer, the Shackelford Campaign supports Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson's coding initiatives for public schools, and believe this policy should apply to the nation so we are more competitive in the global economy.
