Support proper funding of public education in Colorado and solving the 'negative factor' Education Matters for a healthy, thriving community. One of the biggest factors in determining the success of a community's economy is how well - educated is the city's population. To become strong, contributing citizens and to be able to compete in a challenging, knowledge based, global economy, education is now more than ever is the key to opportunity and success. Two of the biggest, most important ingredients for student success are good teachers and involved parents. Research shows with more than two decades of findings about the connection between the importance of good teachers and student achievement/learning. We must support, partner with and respect our teachers and schools. To have excellent schools we must invest resources as well as increase funding for our school and higher education. All Colorado, especially Loveland/ TSD's children, regardless of where they live, or how they learn, or their socioeconomic status, should have the opportunity to attend excellent schools and colleges with highly qualified, innovative teachers, professors, and staff. I am a strong advocate and supporter of public education. We need to stop digging in Colorado with the 'negative factor' and restore the 14 million dollars per year shortfall since 2010 to the Thompson School District. Advocate for wise investments in Colorado’s public schools, colleges, and universities. Support Safe Transportation Solutions/Expansion for Northern I-25 Corridor and the Loveland Interchanges We need to explore and invest in transportation infrastructure that will lead us to new ways to move our people and goods in Northern Colorado. We need new leadership that recognizes that pouring more concrete is not our only solution to our transportation issues. I-25 is now a safety and commercial liability at this point and Loveland/ HD 51 residents deserve someone who will work for an immediate solution as well as follow the good work of planning that has already been done. I want to team with other local leaders to look for improvements that are beneficial for economic development and congestion mitigation. Many may see Northern Colorado as a great place to live and work, but one of the first things business owners will look at is infrastructure and transportation needs as well as the quality of schools. Our current transportation situation is not adequate. Anyone who has traveled along Highway 34, 402 at the Loveland interchanges or along northern I-25, immediately experiences and understands the challenges we are currently facing. Support Economical Housing & Strengthen Our Economy Loveland deserves a representative who will ensure a diversification of jobs that allows people to maintain a quality of life in Loveland. I will work to build stronger policies and legislation that attract good jobs and ensures people can afford to live in Loveland. All residents of Loveland and HD 51 deserve access to decent, safe housing. Protectour Colorado resources - Protect our Colorado and Loveland Parks Support Loveland’s working families - Support Loveland’s small businesses[1] |
