Joe Atchison was the New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture. He assumed office on July 1, 2023. He left office on March 25, 2024.

Gov. Phil Murphy (D) appointed Atchison acting New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture on July 1, 2023, to replace Doug Fisher.[1]

Biography

Atchison earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University.[2]

Prior to being appointed acting New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture, Atchison worked for the New Jersey Department of Agriculture from 2005 to 2023. He served as Marketing Specialist, Coordinator of Agricultural Marketing, Division Director of Marketing and Development, and Assistant Secretary of Agriculture. [3]
