Joe Ayala was an at-large representative on the Rialto Unified Board of Education in California. Ayala did not seek re-election in 2020.

Three of the five seats on the Rialto Unified School District Board of Education were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. In their bids for re-election, incumbents Joe Ayala, Nancy O'Kelley, and Joseph Martinez defeated opponents Darnell Jenkins and Abraham McNally.[1][2]

Ayala began the race with an existing account balance of $6,402.14 from his previous campaign. He reported $1,500.31 in contributions and $3,348.63 in expenditures to San Bernardino County Elections Office of the Registrar of Voters, which left his campaign with $4,553.82 on hand as of October 22, 2016.[3]
