Joe Bye was a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 46 of the Mississippi State Senate.

Bye was defeated in the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 46. He ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. Mickey Lagasse and Philip Moran defeated both Brian Cuevas and Fred Sullivan in the Republican primary. Moran then defeated Lagasse in the primary runoff election on August 23, 2011. James Overstreet ran as a Constitution Party candidate. Bye lost to Moran in the general election on November 8, 2011.[1]
