Joe Caiazzo was the New Hampshire state director for Bernie Sanders' (I) 2020 presidential campaign. Before joining Sanders' campaign in February 2019, Caiazzo served as campaign manager for Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse's (D) re-election campaign in 2018, and as Hillary Clinton's Rhode Island state director in the 2016 general election season; during the 2016 primary, Caiazzo worked on Sanders' presidential campaign. He also managed several campaigns down-the-ballot.

Career

Before joining Sanders' campaign in 2019, Caiazzo worked for campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels of government. In 2009, he managed James Fiorentini for mayor. From 2009 to 2010, Caiazzo was regional field director for Dan Seals for Congress (IL-10). In May 2010, he moved to Mike Day's state senate campaign as a field director, and in September of the same year, he joined Bill Keating's (MA-10) congressional campaign. In 2012, he worked on Elizabeth Warren's Senate campaign to get out the vote.[1]

Caiazzo served as a political director on Donald Berwick's campaign in Massachusetts' 2014 gubernatorial primary election and, after Berwick did not advance to the general election, Caiazzo joined Mike Lake's campaign for lieutenant governor of the state until Seth Moulton's congressional campaign hired him as an adviser in September 2014.[1]

In the 2016 election cycle, Caiazzo worked on Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign, joining Hillary Clinton's campaign as Rhode Island state director in June after the Democratic primary. In 2018, Caizzo managed Sheldon Whitehouse's campaign for U.S. Senate.[1]

Caiazzo graduated from Barry University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in history and theology, and received an MPA from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.[1] As of July, 2023, Caiazzo serves as a trainer with the National Democratic Training Committee and is a partner in The JCN Group, a public affairs firm.
