Joe Don McGaugh

Joe Don McGaugh is an associate judge of the 8th Circuit Court in Carroll County, Missouri. He was appointed by Gov. Eric Greitens (R) on October 19, 2017, to fill the vacancy created by the elevation of Kevin L. Walden to circuit judge.[1]
At the time of his appointment to the bench in 2017, McGaugh was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 39. He was first elected to that position on November 6, 2012. McGaugh was required to resign his position in the state House to accept the judicial appointment.[1]
Biography
McGaugh earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri and a J.D. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. His professional experience includes work as the city attorney and city prosecutor for Carrollton and as the principal attorney at his law firm, McGaugh Law Offices LLC.[2]

2014Elections for the Missouri House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 25, 2014. Incumbent Joe Don McGaugh was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unopposed in the general election.[6][7] 2012McGaugh won election in the 2012 election for Missouri House of Representatives, District 39. McGaugh ran unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary and defeated Will Talbert (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[8][9]
