Joe G. Rivera was a 2014 candidate for the Cameron County Court in Texas.[1]

Rivera ran for election to the Cameron County Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 43.7 percent of the vote. He competed against Ruben R. Pena, Martin Arambula and T. Rivera.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Rivera faced Pena in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. Rivera won, earning 53.6% of the vote.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46.2 percent of the vote. He competed against Carlos H. Cascos.

Education
Rivera earned an undergraduate degree from Texas Southmost College.[3]
Military service
Rivera served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1957 to 1965. He was on active duty from June to December of 1959.[3]
