Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Florida

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

On December 7, 2022, a federal grand jury indictment alleging that Harding had defrauded a federal loan program was unsealed. The indictment alleged that Harding used two companies that are no longer in business to apply for small business pandemic loans and received $150,000. Harding pleaded not guilty to all six charges.[1]

On December 8, 2022, Harding resigned from the Florida House of Representatives stating, “Today, I am resigning from my position for the same two reasons: I love people, and I love Florida. I believe in Floridians and want what is best for them, and I believe their leaders need not be encumbered by distractions that are mine alone.”[1]
