Hoelscher ran for election to the Bexar County Court at Law No. 13.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 35.8 percent of the vote. He competed against Eric DeWalt and Crystal Chandler.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Hoelscher faced Chandler in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. He was defeated, earning 45.4% of the vote.
