Biography
Lewis graduated from Aurora Hinkley High School and later earned a B.A. in political science from Metropolitan State University. He has worked as a mortgage banker since 1996. Lewis has been a volunteer at Eastridge Elementary School and the Salvation Army.[1]

The city of Aurora, Colorado, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 27, 2015. Five of the ten city council seats were up for election.[4]
In Ward IV, incumbent Molly Markert did not file for re-election. Arnie Schultz withdrew his candidacy in September. Charlie Richardson defeated Joe Lewis in the general election.[5]
