Joe Messineo
Joe Messineo was a 2012 Democratic candidate for West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture in the 2012 elections.
Biography
Messineo has worked extensively for the United States Department of Agriculture, including 17 years with Veterinary and Plant Quarantines Services and 15 years as "Officer in Charge" of the state of West Virginia. He also worked for three years as a food safety inspector/animal health technician for the U.S. Army.[1]
Elections
2012
Messineo ran for West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture in 2012. He lost against Sally Shepherd, Steve Miller, Bob Tabb and Walt Helmick in the Democratic primary on May 8.[2] Kent Leonhardt was unopposed in the Republican primary. Mike Teets ran on the Republican ticket but withdrew in mid-February.
Incumbent Gus Douglass did not run for re-election.
