Issues
Montemayor campaign speech |
Montemayor outlines his views on the following issues on his campaign site:
Fund Public Education
Excerpt:"The Austin idealogues have failed to prepare Texas school kids for college and the workforce. We need leadership that will take bold steps to fully fund our schools and improve student performance."
Expand Our Workforce
Excerpt:"Our community colleges and universities are under-funded. Student financial aid continues to lose value, while tuition skyrockets. We must make college affordable–it is an investment in the future of Texas.
Create Jobs Now
Excerpt:"Small businesses must be given the incentives to create the jobs in which Texans will thrive. Growing the middle class lowers taxes, but almost two decades of Rick Perry and Joe Crabb have protected corporations and left mom and pop businesses to fend for themselves."
Smart Crime-Fighting
Excerpt:"Invest in the tools and human intelligence needed to effectively bring down major crime organizations and improve neighborhoods. We need smart policing that is respected by the community and feared by the criminals."

Stop the Waste
Excerpt:"Texas agencies must create efficiencies to work better and smarter. And we must stop corporate welfare boondoggles and cronyism promoted by Rick Perry and his Capitol lobbyist-friends."[2]
