Joe Paskvan
Joe Paskvan (b. May 19, 1952) is a former Democratic member of the Alaska State Senate, representing District E from 2009 to 2013. Paskvan was defeated in his bid for re-election in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1]
Biography
Paskvan earned his B.A. in political science from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in 1975 and his J.D. from University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1981.
Paskvan's professional experience includes working as an attorney for Rice, Hoppner, Brown, & Brunner from 1981-1986, owning his own firm, Paskvan & Ringstad PC, in 1986 and Manager of Tommy’s Elbow Room, in Fairbanks from 1973-1978.

Paskvan ran for re-election in the 2012 election for Alaska State Senate District 2 (B). He ran unopposed in the August 28, 2012, Democratic primary and was defeated by Pete Kelly (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4]

In 2008, Paskvan was elected to the Alaska State Senate, District E. Paskvan edged out Cynthia Henry in a close race by taking 5,861 votes (51.81%) while Henry finished with 5,422 votes (47,93%).[5] Paskvan raised $107,395 for his campaign fund.[6]
