Currently work for the Nevada State Police/ State Fire Marshal Division. I have recently been promoted to be our Assist State Fire Marshal. I oversee the daily operations of the State Fire Marshal. We provide protection to the citizens of the state through enforcement of laws pertaining to fire prevention, arson investigation, mitigation of hazardous materials incidents, and wildland fire response. We also serve as law enforcement officers and assist allied law enforcement as needed.

I am a Nevada Army National Guard veteran where I served for 11 years. I had multiple activations to include deployments to Afghanistan and Haiti.

Last year I was honored to be appointed to the Washoe County School Board of Trustees. I currently represent District C.

I am happily married with four children, three of which are students of the Washoe County School District.

What child can pay attention to a teacher when she is hungry and doesn’t know when her next meal will be? What about that child that has had a toothache for weeks? How do we expect a student, that does not have adequate clothes or shoes, to focus on his lessons? What can be done to create a learning environment for a child that is hurting? For a child to be ready for education, a circle of needs must be met.

So, a school district offers a child clothes; so that she is warm and comfortable and able to concentrate on her lessons. A school district offers medical services, that bridges into the community, so the student can be healthy enough to learn. A school district offers food,
