Joe Smith (Kentucky)
Joe Smith was a member of the Lexington City Council in Kentucky, representing District 2. Smith assumed office in 2017. Smith left office in 2019.
Smith ran for re-election to the Lexington City Council to represent District 2 in Kentucky. Smith lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
He was appointed to the council by Mayor Jim Gray on May 19, 2017, to replace Councilwoman Sasha Love Higgins.[1]
Biography
Smith received a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Kentucky. His professional experience includes working as a realtor for 30 years and in banking for 10 years. He served as president of the Townley Park Homeowners Association, and as a member of the Lexington Catholic High School Board of Trustees, the Lexington Jaycees, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, the Lexington Planning Commission, and the Lyric Task Force Committee.[1]
