2014
Spencer explained his themes for the 2014 race in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He challenged the board's ability to lead by citing ethics claims against board members and poor budget management. Spencer argued that board members spoke about overcrowded schools and budget issues but approved $350,000 for an outside consultant to conduct personality assessments of district administrators. He opposed any property tax increase proposals until 2016 and stated he would only support an increase if there were significant changes to the budget.[1]
