Campaign themes

2016

Woodson's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

  • I believe in strong, accountable public schools and local control of school districts. I believe in expanding Pre-K and Summer Educational programs. I believe charter schools serve an important demand. I also believe traditional public schools must be allowed to succeed.
  • I believe in “Arkansas Works” – Gov. Hutchinson’s expanded healthcare coverage.
  • I believe life begins at conception.
  • I believe in providing every possible resource for our Veterans.
  • I believe the 2nd Amendment gives every person the right to protect themselves, their family and their property. I also believe we can use common sense to hinder criminals and terrorists without sacrificing 2nd Amendment rights.
  • I believe in equal pay for women.
  • I believe the Bible is the word of God and that Jesus’ example is to practice love towards all.
  • I also believe the 1st Amendment protects every person’s right to practice their individual faith.
  • I believe in punishing criminals and I believe in ongoing criminal justice reform. I believe if we help our “at risk” young people now, we help ourselves in the future.[1]
