Recall supporters

The recall effort was organized by resident John Thiel, who accused Bergman of abuse of power, creating a hostile work environment for the employees and city council, and failing to follow state and city statutes. Thiel also cited Police Chief Marcus Paczosa not being retained as a reason for the recall.[4]

Recall opponents

In response to the recall effort, Bergman said, "The allegations being made against my actions as Mayor are false. All allegations made towards the City for improprieties have been reviewed by City Attorney, City and State Auditors and found to be approved processes."[4]
