Joel Chaisson
Joel Chaisson (b. August 21, 1960) is a former Democratic member of the Louisiana State Senate. He represented District 19 from 2000 to 2012 and served as President of the Senate from 2008 to 2012. He previously served in the Louisiana State House of Representatives from 1991 to 2000 and as a Councilman for Saint Charles Parish from 1984 to 1988.
Chaisson earned his B.S. from the University of New Orleans in 1980. He went on to receive his J.D. from Louisiana State University in 1983.
Chaisson has been an Attorney/Business Owner since 1983.

Due to term limits Chaisson could not see re-election to the Louisiana State Senate in 2011. He instead filed for the March 24 special election for district attorney of St. Charles Parish and was the only person to do so.[1]

In 2007 Chaisson was re-elected to the Louisiana State Senate District 19. Chaisson's vote totals are not available because he ran unopposed in the election.
