Joel E. August

Joel E. August served as a judge of the Maui Second Circuit of Hawaii from 2002 until his retirement in February, 2011.[1][2] He was appointed to fill the vacancy created by former Judge Artemio Baxa's retirement in 2001.[3][4]
Education
August earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College, and a J.D. from University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law.[5]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Joel August was a partner of the firm Lowenthal & August, beginning in 1980 and as a per diem judge for the Second Circuit District Court.[1]
