Joel Jarvis was a candidate for Ward 6 representative on the Las Vegas City Council in Nevada. He was defeated in the primary election on April 4, 2017.

Although city council elections in Las Vegas are officially nonpartisan, Jarvis was listed by the Clark County Republican Party as a Republican candidate in 2017.[1]

Jarvis earned an associate degree in business from Rock Valley College and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, and law from Illinois State University.[2]

At the time of his 2017 run for office, Jarvis was a client manager for Kaercher Insurance and the owner and president of So Vegas LLC. His professional experience includes work as an accountant for Las Vegas Sands, Perlman Architecture, and Capitol Pacific Homes. He has also served on the boards of directors of Aid for Aids of Nevada and Opportunity Village ARC, as a member of the accreditation team for the United Way of Southern Nevada, and as the social chair of the New Lawyer Committee and co-chair of the Community Service Committee of the Clark County Bar Association.[2][3]
