Joel Marker to fill vacancy on Utah bankruptcy court

Utah: Joel T. Marker will be sworn in to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Utah today. He was appointed to this position by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit to replace Judge Judith Boulden, who retired on June 30th. Since 1997, Marker has served as a Chapter 7 trustee in Utah. Judge William T. Thurman, Chief Judge of the bankruptcy court, said, "Mister Marker has extensive experience in bankruptcy law and will be a great asset to the Utah bankruptcy bench." Judges of this court serve 14-year renewable terms.[1]
