Joel Robideaux
Joel C. Robideaux is a former Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 45 from 2004 to 2015. He was first elected to the chamber in a special election in 2004.
Robideaux served as Speaker Pro Tem, and was the first independent to serve in that role. He changed his party affiliation from independent to Republican on September 1, 2011.[1][2]
Biography
Robideaux's professional experience includes working as a certified public accountant, campaign treasurer for State Senator Mike Michot and an adjunct accounting instructor at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.

On October 22, 2011, Robideaux won re-election to District 61 of the Louisiana House of Representatives. He defeated W. David Chance (L) the October 22 primary. Because Louisiana uses a blanket primary system, a candidate can be declared the overall winner of the seat by garnering over 50 percent of the vote in the primary.[3]
