My name is John Alexander Sakelos and I am a moderate Republican running for New York State Assembly in District 26. I am a union actor and professor who entered politics with the intention of making a difference in my community.
  • We want to repeal the dangerous bail reform law passed by the state assembly and replace it with responsible criminal justice reform that protects our neighborhoods while providing a second chance to non-violent offenders.
  • We want to lower taxes and make Queens affordable for the middle class families that make this city the economic powerhouse of the nation.
  • We want to institute term limits to curb the graft and corruption that runs rampant in Albany.
My goals include restoring law and order in our communities that are now hotbeds of crime, bringing an end to years of corruption and governmental waste by instituting term limits, and passing responsible yet compassionate criminal justice reform state wide. Our campaign wants to keep Rikers Island open, we do not support the construction of new jails in our neighborhoods.
