John A. Schaefer
John A. Schaefer was a judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush in January of 2000, and he was re-elected in 2014 without opposition.[1][2][3] His six-year term would have expired on January 4, 2021.[4] He retired from the court in 2017.

As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot.

Education
Schaefer received his B.S. degree from the United States Military Academy and his J.D. degree from the University of Miami.[5]
Career
Schaefer was a civil litigator prior to his judicial appointment in 2000.[1]
