John Benjamin Sanborn (1883-1964) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.

Professional career

Judicial nominations and appointments

Eighth Circuit

Sanborn was nominated by President Herbert Hoover on December 19, 1931 to replace Wilbur Franklin Booth. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 19, 1932, and received commission on January 23rd. On June 30, 1959, he assumed senior status. He served until his death on March 7, 1964.

District of Minnesota

Sanborn was previously a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

He was nominated by President Calvin Coolidge on March 18, 1925 to replace Wilbur Franklin Booth.[1] He was confirmed by the Senate and received commission that same day. He served on this court until February 2, 1932, when he was appointed to the Eighth Circuit. Sanborn was succeeded in this position by Matthew Joyce.
