John Bennett Jr. (New Jersey)
John Bennett Jr. was an at-large member of the Middletown Township School Board in New Jersey. He was first elected to the board in 2012. Bennett lost his re-election bid in a general election on November 5, 2013.
Biography
Bennett resides in Middletown Township, New Jersey. Bennett is a graduate of the Middletown Township School District and a student at Brookdale Community College pursuing a degree in Secondary Education. He is a seasonal employee with the PNC Arts Center, and he won a special election to the Middletown Township school board in 2012 in order to complete the unexpired term of resigned board member Michael Mascone.[1][2]

In response to a survey conducted by The Hub Independent, Bennett argued that the following was the most significant issue confronting the school district:[1]
Our main job is to ensure that students are prepared for the rapidly changing world in which we live. I will support technology that adds value to our curriculum, analyze reports that indicate the strengths and weaknesses of our programs, and work with fellow board members to advocate for the best possible opportunities for our students. |
