John Betancourt
John Betancourt was an at-large member of the Amarillo Independent School District school board in Texas. Betancourt assumed office in 2015. Betancourt left office in 2019.
Betancourt (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Texas State Board of Education to represent District 15. Betancourt lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
When he served on the school board, Betancourt was a senior manufacturing resource analyst with Bell Helicopter-Textron. From 2002 until 2011, he served as a site administrator for Texas Tech University.[1] Betancourt was elected to a six-year term on the Amarillo College Board of Regents on May 1, 2021.[2]
