Campaign themes
2014
Bizon's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]
Education
- Excerpt: "We cannot afford to leave our children behind, being unable to read or do math, if we are to have an effective workforce. We can’t attract good jobs without prepared and educated workers. Let’s get the bureaucracy out of the way, let our teachers teach and ask teachers how to get the best for our children."
The Family
- Excerpt: "Our children are our most valuable resource. We must make supporting the structures that will ensure their success a priority. Through state policies and our tax code, we often make it more difficult to raise children. We need to measure the success or failure of our social programs by their effect on our children."
Jobs
- Excerpt: "I’m supportive of Governor Snyder’s initiatives encouraging business expansion in Michigan. We require an empowered and appropriately trained pool of talented individuals to help our companies be successful in the competitive world market we find ourselves in."
Health Care
- Excerpt: "Our health care system is broken and often costs too much for the average person to be able to afford. We must focus on helping our citizens be healthier, lower the cost of health care and at the same time improve the quality of care."
Guns
- Excerpt: "I am pro-second amendment as it is a founding principle within the Constitution. I carry my CPL (concealed pistol license). However, with great rights come great responsibilities. We need to ensure our neighbors are safe and those who use weapons do so only in a law abiding manner. We must make further strides in identifying mental illness in our community and provide better support for individuals who are so affected."

Misdemeanor assault battery charge (2022)
On February 18, 2022, Bizon pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault battery charge. The charge alleged that on August 14, 2021, while at an appointment, Bizon touched a healthcare worker in an inappropriate manner.[9]
In response to the charge, Bizon said, "Without question, this entire situation is regrettable. As a doctor who has spent decades caring for those in need, I am deeply distressed that I unintentionally caused someone to feel unsafe. I was very sick at the time of the incident and did not behave as I normally would have. Nevertheless, I take this situation very seriously and have learned from it."[9]

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
