Blankley ran in the 2012 election for Connecticut House of Representatives District 149. Blankley ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012. He faced Livvy Floren (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3] Blankley was defeated in the general election.[4]
