John J. Bonacic (b. June 14, 1942) is a former Republican member of the New York State Senate, representing District 42 from 1999 to 2019. He served as deputy Republican conference leader for state/federal relations. He also previously served as deputy Republican whip.

Bonacic served in the Orange County Legislature from 1972 to 1989. He served as majority leader from 1983 to 1987 and as chairman from 1988 to 1989. He then served in the New York State Assembly from 1990 to 1999.

Biography

Bonacic earned his B.A. in economics from Iona College in 1964 and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1968. He worked as an assistant district attorney for Orange County and for Orange and Rockland Utilities and was counsel for Bonacic LoBiondo & Krahulik, Limited Liability Partnership.[1]
