I am a special education aide in a public school. I was in the army for 25 years, I am married and I have 2 children.
  • I support improving educator salaries and expanding public school options to allow 3 and 4 year old children to attend elementary school. I also believe that there should be 2 years of free college, vocational school or apprenticeships after high school graduation.
  • The minimum wage should be high enough to support a family and be at least $15/hour with an annual cost of living allowance to keep pace with inflation.
  • Investments in infrastructure help improve quality of life from cleaner water, better roads, faster internet speeds and a greener grid.
I feel climate change and voter rights are 2 key areas that should be addressed. Expanding renewable energy will reduce the effects of climate change by reducing the demand for fossil fuels. Voter rights should be expanded to include early voting and postage paid absentee applications and ballots. This would expand access to ensure all voters are able to vote from home without the need for postage or other restrictions.
I try to find solutions that are the best options for the communities we serve.
I worked with my father doing carpentry work and working on wooden boats when I graduated from high school. I worked for 4 years as a carpenter until I joined the army.
The governor and legislature should work together on behalf of the people they serve.
I believe compromising is necessary to find common ground with people of different backgrounds.
