John Browning
John Browning (Republican Party) was a judge for Place 6 of the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. He assumed office on August 31, 2020. He left office on December 31, 2020.
Browning (Republican Party) ran for election for the Place 6 judge of the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. He lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Governor Greg Abbott (R) appointed him to the court on August 24, 2020, to replace David Bridges.[1][2][1]
The local Republican Party precinct chairs selected Browning to replace incumbent candidate David Bridges (R) on the general election ballot after Bridges' death, which occurred after the primary election.[3]
Biography
John Browning earned a B.A. in history and comparative literature from Rutgers University in 1986 and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1989. Browning's career experience includes working as an attorney with Spencer Fane LLP and as an adjunct professor at the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.[4][5]
