John Bruce
John Bruce (1832-1901) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama.
He was nominated by President Ulysses Grant on February 23, 1875. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 27, 1875, and received commission that same day. He served on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama until August 2, 1886. He served on the Northern District of Alabama and the Middle District of Alabama until his death on October 1, 1901. Bruce was succeeded in this position by Thomas Goode Jones.
