John Bustamante
John Bustamante was a 2014 candidate for the 45th District Court in Texas.[1]
Bustamante was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House representing the 23rd Congressional District of Texas.[2]

Bustamante ran for election to the 45th District Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 46.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Milton Fagin and Laura Flores Macom.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Bustamante faced Macom in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. He won, receiving 51.3% of the vote.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46.6 percent of the vote. He competed against Stephani Walsh.

Bustamante ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Texas' 23rd District. He was defeated by Pete Gallego and Ciro Rodriguez in the Democratic primary on May 29, 2012.[4][5]
Education
Bustamante received a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1999, and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2003.[6]
