John C. Gargiulo was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. Gargiulo joined the court on August 5, 2014.[1] His service ended upon his death on October 3, 2021.[2]

Prior to his appointment to the federal court, Gargiulo was a judge for the Second Judicial District (Place 2) of Mississippi. He was appointed by Governor Haley Barbour on July 14, 2009, and elected to a full term the following year. His term would have expired in November 2014.[3][4]

Education

Gargiulo earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Southern Mississippi, going on to receive his J.D. from the University of Mississippi.[3]

Professional career

Prior to his judicial appointment in 2009, Gargiulo was an assistant district attorney in the Second Judicial District. He also has experience as an associate attorney at Bryant Clark Dukes Blakeslee, where he specialized in civil defense of personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance and municipal liability claims.[3]
