John Tidwell
John C. Tidwell (b. August 15, 1941) is a former Democratic member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 74 from 1996 to 2014.
Biography
Tidwell attended post-graduate studies at Caste Heights Military Academy in Lebanon. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1966. He is a civil engineer. Tidwell has served on the New Johnsonville City Council and the Humphreys County Commission.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 3, 2014. Incumbent John Tidwell was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Jay Reedy defeated Keith Svadba in the Republican primary. Reedy defeated Tidwell in the general election.[1][2]

Tidwell ran in the 2012 election for Tennessee House of Representatives, District 74. Tidwell ran unopposed in the August 2 primary election and defeated Lauri Day (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]

2010
Tidwell won re-election to the 74th District seat in 2010. He was unopposed in the August 5 primary.[5] He also faced no opposition in the general election on November 2, 2010.[6]

On November 4, 2008, Tidwell won re-election to the 74th District seat in the Tennessee House of Representatives.[7]
