John Carmichael was a 2019 candidate for an at-large seat of the Hickman Mills C-1 Board of Education in Missouri. Carmichael won the general election on April 2, 2019; however, following the election, Carmichael and school district attorney Chris Gahagan filed an affidavit for Carmichael to be disqualified as a candidate since he had not been a resident of Missouri for at least one year prior to becoming a member, as is required by state statute. A judge allowed the disqualification. Candidate Cecil Wattree was elected to the board, having received the next most votes after Carmichael.[1]
