John Chmura

John Chmura is a judge for the 37th District Court in Michigan.[1] His current term expired on January 1, 2019.
Education
Judge Chmura received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. He earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1988.[2]
Career
Judge Chmura began his career as a staff attorney for Hyatt Legal Services, and then started his own law practice in 1991. In 1996, he was appointed to the 37th District Court bench, and he was made Chief Judge of that court by the Michigan Supreme Court in 2008.[2]
