An effort to recall Alderman John Collins-Muhammad did not qualify for the ballot in St. Louis, Missouri.[1]

Collins-Muhammad was re-elected to the Ward 21 seat on the St. Louis Board of Aldermen in April 2021 with 61% of the vote, defeating Laura Keys. He assumed office in 2017.

Recall supporters

Resident Amber Cole initiated the recall campaign. She said that the motivation for the recall was, in part, Collins-Muhammad's support for a development project in the O’Fallon Park area, which Cole said did not have enough community input. She also cited pending traffic charges against the alderman as a reason for the campaign.[1]

Recall opponents

Collins-Muhammad declined to comment on the recall to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.[1]
