John D. Coggin was a judge on the Cherokee County District Court, Alabama.[1]

On October 31, 2016, Judge Coggin was selected as one of seven retired judges to sit in place of the recused justices of the Alabama Supreme Court to hear the appeal of Chief Justice Roy Moore of his permanent suspension by the Alabama Court of the Judiciary.[2]
