John D. Trahan is a judge of the 15th Judicial District in Louisiana. He was elected to this position in September of 1996 and took office the following January 1.[1][2] He was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[3][4]

Trahan ran for re-election to the 15th Judicial District.
As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [4]

Education

Trahan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and his J.D. from the Louisiana State University Law School.[1][5][6]

Career

Trahan joined the district court in 1997 and served as the chief judge of that court from September of 2003 to August of 2005.[1]
