|John is running for Congress to end the stalemate caused by out of touch career politicians and to put the people of Oregon first. John has a plan to address homelessness, protect the community, improve K-12 education, and advocate for the environment with common sense solutions that keep the economy intact.
John comes from humble beginnings in New Jersey where his family immigrated from Italy. As a young man, he supported himself with a string of back-breaking jobs, from laboring in a paper mill, to baling hay, to building houses; until a fateful layoff led him to a job as an orderly at a hospital where he discovered a path to creating a meaningful life dedicated to the service of others. A college dropout, John went back to school while working full time to complete a bachelor’s degree. He was accepted into Rutgers Medical School while supporting himself by running his own part time construction business.- Public safety is a top priority. Existing laws must be enforced by restoring law enforcement capacity at all local, state, and federal agencies. More effective management of the homeless crisis requires attention to social, mental health, and addiction issues and not just on relocating individuals trapped in homelessness. The borders must be re-secured to prevent the victimization of illegal immigrants to human trafficking, sexual and economic slavery, to stop the escalation of deadly drug trafficking and the infiltration of criminal cartels that are establishing a foothold in our communities.
- The funds contributed by American tax dollars for the education of our young people should be apportioned to each child and directed to the educational facility chosen by their parents or legal guardians. Any tax dollar funding of public schools should be dependent upon documented benchmarks in subjects which assure the highest competency in marketable skill sets. An emphasis should be placed on reading, writing, mathematics, and documented American history and civics. As with other professions, teachers should maintain political neutrality and teach students how to employ critical thinking to arrive at their own opinions.
- The American people are intelligent and hardworking and must be relied upon to direct the course of our nation. We must never allow another public health issue to be so grossly mismanaged and politicized that it would have a devastating impact on every critical function in our nation. The COVID-19 situation evolved into a crisis due to the significance conflicts of interest financially and politically of those who were charged with managing it. Critical information was blocked from the American people that resulted in disruptions of education, childhood development, our national economy, and the welfare of all people in our society.
As your Congressman, I will work across party lines to solve our nation’s toughest issues and put America first. I support secure borders and a strong national defense. I’ll fight back against Joe Biden’s socialist policies that are costing the middle-class thousands of dollars a year and restore power back to the American people.
As a physician, I strongly believe we must empower and educate individuals to decide what is medically best for them and their family members. The government should never be in the business of using coercive fear tactics to deprive Americans of their basic individual liberties.
