John Duhe
John Malcolm Duhe, Jr. is a federal judge on senior status with the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. He joined the court in 1988 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan.[1]
Early life and education
Born in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, Duhe graduated from Tulane University with his bachelor's degree in 1955 and from Tulane Law School with his LL.B. in 1957.[1]

Duhe was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on June 27, 1988, to a seat vacated by Judge Albert Tate. Hearings on Duhe's nomination were held before the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary on August 9, 1988, and his nomination was reported by then-U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) on October 5, 1988. Duhe was confirmed by the unanimous consent of the U.S. Senate on October 14, 1988, and he received his commission on October 17, 1988. Duhe assumed senior status on April 7, 1999.[1][2] He was succeeded in this position by Judge Edith Clement.
Western District of Louisiana
Duhe was nominated to the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana by President Ronald Reagan on May 15, 1984, to a seat vacated by Judge Eugene Davis. Duhe was confirmed on a voice vote of the United States Senate on June 8, 1984, and he received his commission on June 11, 1984. Duhe resigned from the district court on November 9, 1988, upon his elevation to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.[1] He was succeeded in this position by Judge Richard Haik.
