John E. DeSanto was a Sixth Judicial District judge for St. Louis County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position on February 19, 2009, by Governor Tim Pawlenty.[1] He retired on September 16, 2015.[2]

Education

DeSanto received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota at Duluth in 1968 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1973.[1]

Career

DeSanto began his legal career in 1973 as an assistant St. Louis County attorney. He worked in this capacity until March of 2008, serving as the chief prosecutor in charge of the criminal division from 1976 to 2007. He then worked for a brief time from March of 2008 to July of 2009 as a private practice lawyer in Duluth, Minn.[1]
