John E. "Pancho" Morse Jr. is a judge of the Eastern Circuit of Georgia. Morse was appointed by Governor Zell Miller in 1995. Most recently, he was re-elected in 2012 for a term expiring in 2016. When Morse was previously appointed to the Chatham County State Court, he was the youngest judge in county history and the first black state court judge in Georgia.[1][2][3][4]

Morse received his B.A. from Georgia State University, and his J.D. from Mercer University in 1982.[4][5]

Morse is also a former law clerk to Superior Court Judge C. Cloud Morgan.[3][4][5][6]

2012 election

Morse ran unopposed for re-election to the Eastern Superior Court. He was re-elected after receiving 99.8 percent of the vote in the July 31 election.[7][2]
