John Fairgrieve is a judge for the Clark Superior Court in Clark County, Washington. He was appointed to the court by Governor Jay Inslee on March 18, 2015, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Barbara D. Johnson.[1][2] Fairgrieve ran unopposed for election in 2015.[3]

Fairgrieve won re-election in 2016. He was unopposed in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Washington held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. Candidates for district and superior court seats had to file for election by May 20, 2016. Primary elections were held on August 2, 2016, for six seats where more than two candidates filed for election. Incumbent John Fairgrieve ran unopposed in the Clark Superior Court nonpartisan general election for Position 6.[4]

Fairgrieve was re-elected without opposition to the Clark Superior Court - Position 6 in 2015. Washington's general judicial election was held on November 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates was May 15, 2015.[3]

Education

Fairgrieve received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his J.D. from the University of Oregon.[1]

Military service

Fairgrieve served in the U.S. Marine Corps on active duty from 1983 to 1987. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps until 2013.[1]

Career

Before his appointment to the Clark Superior Court, Fairgrieve served as the chief deputy prosecuting attorney for the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for twenty years.[1]
